Elephant underwrites and sells car insurance using a direct, customer-centric model, either online or over the phone, without a network of agents. The company also sells other types of insurance, such as homeowners, renters, and life, but only via offering policies from other companies. While the company does not write these policies, offering them allows it to provide a bundling discount in some states.
Admiral Group PLC is a large publicly traded insurance company in the U.K. The company is a member of the FTSE 100 index of the 100 companies with the largest market capitalizations listed on the London Stock Exchange.
